Whalom Park Stuff
This is a photo taken prior to opening day, (Easter Sunday) April, 1987 - Whalom's Easter Bunny posing with 8' stuffed bunny to be given as prize to whomever could guess the # of jellybeans in a big jar.  We wonder what happened to the large Whale in the background.

These are the brochures used in the mid 1980's of which I designed the interior 'Fun Locator' Map on the left.
A new character was introduced into the park in 1981, "Wally Whalom" became the speaking element of the Whalom mascots, Super Chick, Silly Savage and Simon Looney Bear.  My design for the park clown is on the left, the actual "Wally" to the right, playing 'Hoop Toss' with a young patron.
Here is an example of a large sized brochure usually sent to companies to encourage picnics and outings at Whalom.  These included great pictures of the park during the 1970's and early 1980's.
Surely, anyone who visited
the park remembers Porky,
the paper eater!  He would
vacuum the trash right up from
your hand, and as I recall, would
say something like "Thank You
for keeping our park clean, oink oink!"
Here is an example of the old Whalom
Park stationery (left) that was used for years.
Later, we designed new stationery and
envelopes. (Right)
Here are some more brochures and fliers,
artwork by Paul L'Ecuyer during the mid 1980's.
Remember the "Whalom Park" bumper stickers?  One would see them on almost
everyone's car in the area at the time.
These were very popular as well...
Whenever someone hugged the
Whalom mascots, they'd receive one
of these bumper stickers - sorry, my
scanner wasn't big enough to capture the
entire sticker!
