The Drawbridge Puppets continue to delight children and their families right here in Lunenburg, MA. Located just 1 mile from the center of this quaint north central MA town. This is the permanent home of 'Willy the Wizard' and all of his puppet pals which
area families have enjoyed for decades. There is plenty of FREE parking, beautifully landscaped grounds, a delightful walk-thru 'Enchanted' garden; A (peanut free) Snack Shop (Yes, snacks are allowed in the theater) and a 'Treasure Room' (Gift Shop). A visit to the Drawbridge Puppet Theater is truly a wonderful experience for the entire family.
Exhibits at the theater contain many of the artifacts from Puppeteer, Paul's past'; Marionettes, hand and shadow puppets, original artwork, scenery, props and articles covering the past 30 years of Mr. L'Ecuyer's career as a puppeteer. Many collected puppets from Indonesia, and Burma, beautiful marionettes created by master puppeteer Holmes Hurll, and donated hand puppets by artisans of the Fitchburg Art Museum are also be on display.
One hour public performances are held every weekend, unless otherwise noted. Special puppet making and craft workshops are held throughout the year. Crowning children in attendance as the King and Queen at the Drawbridge castle is always part of the fun and takes place after every public performance. Prize drawings and backstage tours conclude each show. Field trips, private birthday parties and other functions may be scheduled at any time during regular operating hours at the theater.
